First Consultation

Claire will see all patients who have Private Medical Insurance with the following:

  • BUPA

  • AXA

  • PPP

  • Aviva

  • Vitality Health

  • WPA

Please check with you insurer that you are covered for a first consultation and any tests and follow up appointments. Your insurance code will be required by Claire’s secretary before booking your first consultation.

Any patients who are Self Paying will be charged a fixed fee of £220 for their first consultation. If any tests are required such as X rays, ultra sound or MRI, then these will incur an additional charge.

For your first consultation, please bring a list of any medication that you are taking and details of your medical history. It is helpful if you wear socks and shoes which are easy to remove and loose clothing which can be lifted above the knee. You can expect to have a detailed history taken of the current foot problem and any treatments you have already tried. After examining your foot/feet/legs, Claire will aim to give you a diagnosis and discuss treatment options. This will take approximately 30 minutes.

Claire strives to run her clinics on time for everyone’s convenience. However, as some problems can be more complex and require further time to correctly diagnose, occasionally late running clinics are unavoidable

Follow ups

With Private Medical Insurance cover the cost of follow ups is usually included in the package of care, however please check this with your insurer or with Claire’s secretary, Michelle Lewis. For Self Paying patients, a fee of £110 will be charged per additional appointment.

Treatments

If a surgical treatment is recommended, whether it is conservative care, such as an ultra sound guided steroid injection or surgery, then a fee structure will be advised by the New Hall Business manager. The cost of surgical treatments depends on many factors, however no treatment will be booked until a fee has been agreed by all parties.
